Active Phased Array

Phased Array Antennas or Electronically Steered Array (ESA) have a superior performance profile for SatCom. A few of the SatCom specific advantages include:

*some PAAs have limited views in order to lower cost

Because of the very high costs normally associated with true ESAs, they are rarely considered for commercial and consumer applications.  Instead, hybrid, or mechanically steered arrays as well as mechanized reflectors are used in mobile or self-pointing antenna applications.

Linear Signal reduces the cost of true electronically steered arrays up to 600 times—making them price competitive with many reflector based satellite antenna applications.
